 | Air Force Village is an active lifestyle community open to retired and honorably separated commissioned officers of all uniformed services, age 55 and older, their spouses, widows, widowers, and elderly dependents. Air Force Village is a vibrant community with over 25 organized resident activities and clubs on-site to enrich and energize residents’ lives. The term "officer" includes Regular, Reserve, Warrant, and National Guard officers of the Army, Navy, Marine Corp and Coast Guard. It also includes retired commissioned officers of the U.S. Public Health Service and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Widows/widowers in need of financial assistance are offered priority admission, and no widow/widower is ever turned away. Pets are welcome in designated residences. Residents have the option to be as active or as inactive as they want to be. Air Force Village offers a choice of two campuses separated by seven short miles of easy-driving.
* Air Force Village I, 4917 Ravenswood Dr., San Antonio, TX 78227, is conveniently located to the west of Lackland Air Force Base at Valley Hi Drive and I-410. With more than 350 independent living apartments and cottages to choose from, Village I offers: a vitality and fitness center with state of the art exercise equipment and a natatorium; skilled nursing provided by a well-trained caring staff; transportation to the Commissary/BX at Lackland AFB, medical appointments, and special events in San Antonio and the surrounding area.; and the best view in San Antonio from its Sky Lounge on the 16th floor.
* Air Force Village II, 5100 John D. Ryan Blvd, San Antonio, TX 78245, on Hwy 90 West, going toward Castroville, provides our residents with a taste of country living and is only 15 minutes from downtown San Antonio. Village II offers over 403 independent living apartments and homes; assisted living at Liberty House should the need arise; skilled nursing from a well-trained caring staff in the Health Care Center; and Alzheimer's Disease and dementia care at the nationally recognized Freedom House. Amenities on the Village II campus consist of: swimming pool; tennis court; driving range; reduced fees at the Golf Club of Texas; transportation to the Commissary/BX at Lackland AFB, medical appointments, and special events in San Antonio and the surrounding area.
