2010 Chairman of the Board, Carri Baker Wells

Carri Baker Wells received her BBA from Texas A&M University in 1984.  She then joined Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson, LLP, one of the premier law firms in the United States which was founded in San Antonio and represents over 2,000 governmental entities in the collection of receivables.  She serves as Key Executive and Director of Operations.

From the day she moved to San Antonio in 1985, Carri has been an active volunteer supporting the civic and social needs throughout our community. She has served on committees of The Chamber every year since 1991 and has stepped up to serve as Chairman of more than 13 Chamber committees and projects.  In 2010 she will serve as Chairman of the Board of The Chamber. 

She also served in key leadership positions to support many other organizations including the San Antonio Sports Foundation, KLRN, the Texas A&M University System, UTSA, and several area public school foundations.  In 2002 she was the first woman to serve as President of the 12th Man Foundation at Texas A&M University. 

In 1996 the San Antonio Business Journal recognized Carri as a “40 Under 40 Rising Star” and in 2004 she received the Chamber’s Pinnacle Award for Volunteer of the Year.  Carri is a sustaining member of the Junior League of San Antonio and an alumnus of the Texas Lyceum.

Carri is originally from Houston, Texas where her family continues to reside.  She is married to J. Tullos Wells, the Honorary Consul of Canada in San Antonio and the Managing Partner of the San Antonio Office of Bracewell and Giuliani.  In 1995, Tullos served as Chairman of The Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, thus in 2010 they are the first husband and wife to serve as chairman of a large urban Chamber in Texas.  They have a daughter, McKensie, who is a Spanish Immersion student at Woodridge Elementary.
