TRISH DEBERRY-MEJIA | President/ Partner, Guerra DeBerry Coody
The Economic Development Council supports San Antonio’s targeted industries consisting of aerospace, hospitality, information technology, health care & bioscience and manufacturing. The Council also organizes the Economic Outlook Conference, Celebrate America’s Military (CAM) celebration and the annual SA to DC trip.
Aerospace
Jim Perschbach | Partner, Bracewell & Giuliani, LLP
Provides a forum for educating the community on issues of importance to the aerospace industry. This committee influences public policy at the local, state and federal level to encourage continued industry growth and job creation.
Celebrate America’s Military
Don Taylor | President, TEAM Integrated Engineering, LLC
Coordinates the annual salute to the military, which occurs in November and involves more than a dozen events. CAM is recognized as one of the nation’s largest community-wide celebrations of its kind, involving 200,000 people over a 10-day period.
Economic Analysis Panel
Travis Tullos | Project Manager, Texas Perspectives, Inc.
Provides The Chamber with current economic statistics representing a variety of sectors. This panel of local experts assembles the data and publishes a quarterly business forecast for Chamber membership and the general public. The report provides timely and strategic information for making sound business decisions.
Health Care and Bioscience
Dr. Brian Herman | Vice President, Research and Professor, UT Health Science Center at San Antonio
Educates the community on the importance and impact of the local health care & bioscience industry. This committee advocates for critical issues affecting these industries and supports plans and programs designed to grow and sustain them.
Information Technology
Steve Lutz | Executive Director - CVoIP Consumer Marketing, AT&T Operations, Inc.
Leads the implementation of San Antonio Area Cyber Action Plan to further establish and promote cyber education, workforce development, cyber research and development, and collaborations among local cyber government, business and academic entities.
Military Affairs
David Spencer | President, Texas Intrepid Ventures, Inc.
Maintains a strong relationship with local military representatives and works to ensure the military receives the support it needs from the local business community. The committee will continue to partner with the city’s Military Transformation Task Force (MTTF) and support the military’s base realignment and closure actions.
Military Special Events Committee
Keith O’Gorman | Attorney, O’Gorman & Stafford, LLC
Hosts receptions for visiting military and civic leaders and related organizations. Committee members pay an annual fee, in addition to their Chamber dues, to participate.
MARIO BARRERA | Partner, Bracewell & Giuliani, LLP
Establishes relationships with educational entities to help shape the advocacy efforts of The Chamber; enlists and promotes education volunteerism and workforce development initiatives to ensure that San Antonio has a skilled workforce for the future.
Marketing & Communications Council
BILL DAY | Executive Director of Media Relations, Valero Energy Corp.
Researches, evaluates and provides direction on how to brand and market The Chamber to members, including shaping messages about the value of Chamber membership; promotes the benefits of living, working and doing business in San Antonio as a support to economic development and business retention initiatives for the City.

Chairman’s Club

Chamber Ambassadors

Provides ceremonial assistance to members at commemorative events such as grand openings, ground breakings and re-dedication ceremonies. Participation as an Ambassador provides opportunities for business networking and community outreach.
Greater Rewards Committee

Selects and promotes discount programs for Chamber members, including exclusive Chamber partnerships and member-to-member discounts.
Retention Committee

Reaches out to new and long-time members in order to increase involvement and retention. This committee develops initiatives to increase the value that members receive from their investment.

The Public Affairs Council is primarily responsible for voicing the concerns and position of the business community to local, state and federal elected officials and government agencies. The Council creates and implements The Chamber's state and federal legislative agendas, hosts the Mayor's State of the City Address and the County Judge's State of the County address.
Energy & Sustainability Committee

Identifies and supports long-term economical energy sources and policies to promote economic development.
Legislative Committee

Researches, discusses and implements The Chamber's priorities dealing with the Texas State Legislature during legislative and special sessions, as well as during the interims. The group also focuses on federal funding issues that impact San Antonio's economy.
Transportation Committee
Louis Rowe | President/CEO, Goetting & Associates
Advocates for new and innovative methods of transportation funding that satisfy the transportation needs of San Antonio and the region. This includes leading efforts to advocate for timely and full completion of the SH 130 project, support of the Austin/San Antonio Rail Authority, the Alamo Regional Mobility Authority, the San Antonio Mobility Coalition and other transportation entities.
Water Committee
