36th Annual SA to DC Trip
February 2-5, 2014
For the past 36 years, The San Antonio Chamber has taken a delegation of business and civic leaders to Washington, D.C. to meet with key members of Congress, White House officials, cabinet members and military leaders. During this unpredictable political climate and challenging economic times, it is imperative for the businesses of San Antonio to be heard in Washington, D.C. The Chamber needs your participation to ensure key national leaders understand your business priorities on our annual SA to DC trip February 2-5, 2014.
The benefits of SA to DC reach beyond meeting and influencing elected leaders in Washington. Those who attend also benefit from invaluable time with the top business leaders in San Antonio through intense networking. For the past three years, the delegation has included more than 100 participants. On the most recent trip, speakers included elected officials in the Senate and Congress, Administration officials, as well as Michael Oren, Israeli Ambassador to the U.S; Kevin Concannon, Undersecretary, U.S. Department of Agriculture, and; Geoff Freeman, COO & EVP, U.S. Travel Association to name a few.
The focus of the trip during the first 20 years was to say thank you to Pentagon officials and members of congress for their support of the military presence in San Antonio. However, in more recent years, the scope of the trip expanded. The San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Free Trade Alliance now partner with us to bring local issues into the national spotlight on Capitol Hill. These issues include education, aerospace, healthcare, technology, manufacturing, water, transportation, international trade, immigration, hospitality/tourism and small business.
In addition to meetings, meals and event participation, SA to DC registration includes airfare to/from Washington and hotel accommodations. If you register early, you will receive discounted rates.
Please note that special pricing on early-bird registration ends November 27. If you have any questions or need additional information, please contact Michelle Morris at The San Antonio Chamber at (210)229-2105 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
