About the Public Affairs Council:

2009 Public Affairs Council Chair: Blakely Fernandez (Tuggey Rosenthal Pauerstein Sandoloski Agather, L.L.P)

The Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce's Public Affairs Council is the organization's primary voice as advocates for Chamber members and the business community. The Public Affairs department is primarily responsible for voicing the concerns and position of the business community to local, state, and federal elected officials and government agencies. The department also keeps members apprised of important issues facing the community.  

The Public Affairs Council creates and implements The Chamber's legislative agenda, hosts the Mayor's State of the City Address, facilites The County Judge's State of the County address, facilitates City Council debates in election years, and recruits recommendations for qualified business members to local and state boards and commissions.
