Immediate Past Chair
Adam Hamilton serves as President & Chief Executive Officer of Southwest Research Institute (SwRI), one of the nation’s largest independent providers of advanced scientific and applied technology solutions. He holds an M.S. degree in Engineering and a B.S. degree in Aerospace Engineering; both from The University of Texas at Austin. He has been a Professional Engineer since 1993.
Hamilton is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), and he is an Associate Fellow of the American Institute of Astronautics and Aeronautics (AIAA). He is the 2020 Chair of the Board for the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, and he is the first president of the Academy of Distinguished Alumni for the University of Texas Department of Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics.
Hamilton serves the community in an advisory capacity through his appointed roles: Executive Committee and Board of Trustees member, United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County; Advancement Council member, University of Texas at San Antonio College of Sciences; Trustee, San Antonio Medical Foundation; and Special Trustee, Texas Biomedical Research Institute. He is an Industry Advisory Board member for the American Society of Mechanical Engineering (ASME); an Industry and Community Affiliates member of The Academy of Medicine, Engineering & Science of Texas (TAMEST); a Board member for the Dee Howard Foundation; and the Chair of the Board for Signature Science, LLC.
