The San Antonio Chamber of Commerce congratulates the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo on another successful 18-day run. The San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo has grown to one of the largest, most prestigious single events in the city of San Antonio, with more than one million visitors entering the grounds each year.
Throughout its 67-year history, this event has had a significant impact on our community. According to a Trinity University study, the cumulative economic impact from the rodeo in 2015 was nearly $253 million. In addition, with community, donor and volunteer support, the organization has donated more than $160.1 million to the youth of Texas through scholarships, grants, endowments, auctions, programs and show premiums.
The Chamber is proud to be a part of the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo’s history, having organized the Farm and Ranch Committee, chaired by Joe Freeman, which planned and successfully developed the Freeman Coliseum complex in 1944 and directed the development of the San Antonio Livestock Exposition in 1950.
