With over 125 business and community leaders set to travel to Washington on the annual SA to DC trip, industry teams are finalizing key details for visits with leaders in Congress and across SA to DC. This morning, the San Antonio Chamber’s Board of Directors approved the 2016 Federal Agenda, which encompasses all of the various priorities of local industry and advocacy groups that will be presented to agency officials and members of Congress during the annual SA to DC trip.

Every year attendees of the SA to DC trip have access to top-level decision makers with the Congress, agencies, Department of Defense and the Cabinet. This year’s SA to DC trip already features an impressive list of guest speakers including Speaker of the House Paul Ryan, the longest serving Republican Senator Orrin Hatch and Chairman of the House Committee on Homeland Security Michael McCaul. Speakers will continue to be announced over the next ten days as we prepare for the best SA to DC trip yet.

Kicking off our trip on the first morning, Bexar County Congressman Will Hurd will moderate a panel focused on cybersecurity and information sharing that features Congressman Michael McCaul, Chair, House Committee on Homeland Security; Suzanne Spaulding, Under Secretary for the National Protection and Programs Directorate (NPPD) at the Department of Homeland Security; and Richard Bejtlich, Chief Security Strategist at FireEye. With the every-increasing national prominence of San Antonio’s cybersecurity industry, this panel will provide expert opinions from the political, federal government and private-sector on how all three areas can work together to enhance the security of critical information.

Registration for the trip is still open and we’d encourage you to sign up today and join over 130 business and community leaders from San Antonio as we travel to D.C. to advocate for this city. Please contact Ruben Gonzalez (210.229.2199) or Jennifer Harms (210.229.2105) for more information and book the trip on your calendar today.
