During the Chamber’s first Board of Directors Meeting in 2016, hosted by engineering consulting firm Raba Kistner at Oak Hills Country Club, the board unanimously approved this year’s federal agenda. The Federal Agenda will serve as the guide for the more than 130 business leaders, elected officials and staff who will travel to Washington D.C. to meet with key members of congress, White House officials, cabinet members, and military leaders and ensure they understand the priorities of our community.
These priorities include legislation related to local military installations, education, cybersecurity, transportation, health care, aerospace, tourism, energy, water, trade, manufacturing, small business and immigration.
The Federal Agenda outlines specific requests from industries, as well as support for reauthorization of business-friendly legislation such as the ESEA and NCLP education programs and the reauthorization of the Export-Import Bank of the U.S. It encompasses priorities for our largest industries including health care, manufacturing, tourism, energy, cybersecurity and aerospace.
