On February 19, Sheriff Susan Pamerleau addressed an audience of 200 about Bexar Counties latest initiatives on public safety and assistance programs.  She noted that in 2015, her department responded to 105,000 calls for service.  To address this higher demand for services, the Sheriff’s Department has not only been increasing the necessary staff, but they are also increasing their capacity and training to provide a higher quality service to the public. Many deputies and civilians within the department have achieved recognition with national awards of excellence.  Others attend advanced seminars and go on to become FBI graduates.  The Sheriff also discussed the upcoming opening of the northwest side at 1604 to improve response times and service delivery.

More than improving service call responsiveness, Sheriff Pamerleau also discussed the integration of body cameras for deputies within the year and highlighted her belief in criminal rehabilitation and their reintegration into the community.
