Local businesses have an opportunity to get some extra help around the workplace this summer by partnering with SA works to offer jobs to area high school students. Students will apply for summer internships relating to their fields of study through the SA Works website in an initiative to provide more job experiences for San Antonio’s future workforce. These internships allow students to apply what they have learned in the classroom into practical, hands-on scenarios while also benefiting employers looking for additional help.

In addition, this program reinforces the essential skills employers look for in successful employees: punctuality, written and verbal communication, teamwork and critical thinking. The student application for summer internships will close May 25, so there is still time to add your company to our list of available internships.

If you would like to share your job openings with these students, register on the SA Works website and set up your employer profile. You can then add job postings under the “Edit Profile” tab in your employer dashboard.

SA Works would also like to thank the following companies who have already agreed to host high school summer interns this summer: Bexar County, East Central ISD, Embrey Partners, H-E-B, LiftFund, Mood: Texas, RK Group, San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, San Antonio Manufacturing Association, San Antonio Medical Foundation, San Antonio Museum of Art, San Antonio Pets Alive, SWBC,SWEB Development, and Venture Lab.
