The San Antonio Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that Belinda Garza Hartwig has been named Vice President of Economic Development, where she will be responsible for supporting the growth and success of several of San Antonio’s major industries, including Aerospace and Health Care/Bioscience.  She brings with her a strong background in federal government relations through her advocacy and political work.

“We are very excited to add Belinda as part of our team. She has a tremendous amount of leadership and development experience that is invaluable to the Chamber as we grow and adapt to the evolving needs of our prospering city,” said Richard Perez, President and CEO of the Chamber.

Before joining the Chamber, Hartwig served as the Vice President of Government Relations and Public Engagement at Univision Communications for the past two years, and before that, she was the Director of Federal Government Relations at Wal-Mart. Her career started as a Scheduler for Representative Ciro D. Rodriguez in 2002.

“It is an honor to be selected for this position with the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce,” Hartwig said. “I am looking forward to building on the skills I used working in government relations while serving and advocating for the needs of the business community.”

Hartwig has a BBA in Management, concentrating in International Business, from the University of Texas at San Antonio. She has served as a board member on the Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute since 2009 and is a founding member of the Hispanic Lobbyists Association.
