CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health System is pleased to announce Dean Alexander, FACHE, has accepted the senior leadership role as President/CEO for the Santa Rosa market, effective April 3, 2017.
Mr. Alexander is returning to the San Antonio area after serving as the Market Executive Vice President for TeamHealth’s Central Group in Nashville, TN. There he oversaw significant growth through contract acquisition and mergers, initiated cost saving efforts, and improved patient and provider satisfaction for the 13 states region with more than 150 physician practice contracts.
Elaine Mendoza, CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health System Chair, noted “Mr. Alexander brings a wealth of knowledge in developing and growing teams and cultivating outstanding physician relations; CHRISTUS is fortunate to have him join our health care ministry.”
Mr. Alexander previously served as Chief Executive Officer with Methodist Healthcare System’s, Methodist Stone Oak Hospital, a partnership between Methodist Ministries and Hospital Corporation of America. There, his solid performance led to outstanding outcomes including budget performance, top tier HCAHPS patient satisfaction, hospital expansion, and emergency services development and integration. He also led the development, opening, and operation of the Methodist Boerne Medical Center.
With a career dedicated to health care, Mr. Alexander brings years of chief leadership from a variety of facilities in Texas, Florida, and Louisiana. He earned his MBA at the University of Alabama, in Tuscaloosa, AL and his Bachelor of Science from the University of Dayton, Dayton, OH. He enjoys being outdoors and is married to Allison and they have two children, Abbe and Tommy. Mr. Alexander commented, “It is a blessing to have the opportunity to return to the San Antonio area and to lead a dynamic health care ministry such as CHRISTUS Santa Rosa.
