Members of Healthcare and Bioscience Committee discuss community wellness

Today,  several members of our healthcare and bioscience committee met to discuss community wellness initiatives in our city. San Antonio’s health numbers continue to raise concern, as the number of individuals living with diabetes and related conditions is expected to rise significantly over the next several years. The consequences of this are higher health care costs and insurance premiums and an impact on the quality of life for our city as a whole. Our 2017 Chairman of the Board Rad Weaver is committed to taking a leadership role in helping to make our community a healthier one in which to live, work, and play.

Our Healthcare and Biosciences Committee, under 2017 Chair Marc Strode, CEO of Methodist Hospital Stone Oak, is putting together a Wellness Subcommittee, which will undertake the challenge to make our city healthier. The committee has begun identifying existing programs and resources in our community that we can work with as we build our long-term plan.  If you are interested in collaborating with us, please contact Crystal A. Flynn at, and she will connect you with our leadership team.
