Last week, nearly 500 influential business and community leaders filled the ballroom at the Depot at Sunset Station to welcome and celebrate our newly elected Mayor Ron Nirenberg and City Council. The event gave business and community leaders the opportunity to interact, strengthen ties, and forge new relationships with San Antonio’s newest city leaders. Check out our Facebook Live video and pictures from the event!
The celebration kicked off with News 4 Sports Director and anchor Don Harris, who introduced council member as they danced down the depot staircase. The crowd cheered as Mayor Nirenberg entered the event space to the song Paradise City by Guns N’ Roses.
San Antonio Chamber Chairman of the Board Rad Weaver and North San Antonio Chamber of Commerce Chairman of the Board, Phyllis Gallay took the stage to speak briefly about the integral role our city leaders play in ensuring San Antonio maintains a business friendly environment and thriving economy. The event was co-hosted by both Chambers and the RK Group in an effort to demonstrate the importance of collaboration.
Mayor Nirenberg made memorable remarks about San Antonio being “open for business” and his commitment to work with the business community to “build business and make sure our City is not only talked about in Texas, but around the world.” City Council members were then showered with confetti as they joined the Mayor on stage for a group photo.
For more than 100 years, the Chamber has worked closely with our city leaders to ensure San Antonio maintains a business friendly environment. We are excited and eager to work with our new City Council to help transform our city.
We would like to thank all of our event partners and sponsors for helping to make the event first-class.
