All but two members of the Bexar County delegation will be joining us at our Beers and Bills Appreciation Reception set for this Thursday, September 21, 5:30-7:00 p.m. Grab a cold one and mingle with Dean of the Delegation Roland Gutierrez; Representatives Diana Arévalo, Philip Cortez, Tomas Uresti, Barbara Gervin-Hawkins, Ina Minjarez, Justin Rodriguez, Diego Bernal; and Senators Donna Campbell, Jose Menendez, and Carlos Uresti.
Chairman Gutierrez personally invites you to come honor the delegation’s success and show appreciate for their hard work during this past rough-and-tumble legislative session.
The Texas 85th Legislative Session was said to be the toughest one yet, but our Bexar County delegation fought hard to support meaningful legislation for San Antonio. Texas Speaker of the House Straus Joe Straus recognized the Bexar County delegation as “a group that gets things done”. They supported efforts to fund the Alamo Master Plan, preserve funding for the Defense Economic Adjustment Assistance Grant (DEAAG), reform school finance, and protect our military bases from encroachment. Most importantly, we applaud the delegation for their efforts in opposing legislation that would limit local control and undermine the fundamental authority of cities.
Sharing an ice-cold beer among friends is a uniquely Texas way of showing your appreciation. So come on down for a cold beer and some delicious Texas-style appetizers on the Chamber’s beautiful West Patio.
Do not miss the chance to join key business and community leaders in THANKING our hardworking State representatives by raising a glass and celebrating a job well done.
Register now for “Bills and Beers.” We hope you will come celebrate with us!
