Deep in the heart of San Antonio’s Medical Center, UT Health hosted the Chamber’s September board meeting on September 28. UT Health’s President Dr. William Henrich kicked-off the meeting and welcomed board members to the Greehey Children’s Cancer Research Institute that is home to faculty researchers studying cancer. Dr. Henrich also talked about UT Health’s five schools, the importance of the healthcare industry in San Antonio, and UT Health’s dedication to providing the vital pipeline of healthcare professionals our community needs. During the meeting the Board also heard from Lieutenant General Darryl Roberson, Commander, AETC, Joint Base San Antonio- Randolph, who gave the board an Air Education and Training Command Update to include how San Antonio’s armed forces are providing relief support for those affected by Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria. Additionally, the Board heard updates on Chairman’s priorities, Celebrate America’s Military events, and SA to DC. They also voted to approve the Chamber’s proposed 2018 budget.
