Join us in continued support of disaster relief efforts for Puerto Rico & Mexico

Recently, a string of natural disasters have heavily impacted the United States and our neighbors. As a community, our prayers are with those who have lost loved ones, and our hearts go out to all who have been affected.

One of the most devastated areas is an often overlooked U.S. territory, Puerto Rico, and former mayor and Chamber Chairman Henry Cisneros is calling for our support.

On October 7, Cisneros along with Mayor Nirenberg, held an event to inform San Antonians about the needs of Puerto Rico, to raise awareness of the disaster, and to launch a fundraising campaign.  The campaign is seeking monetary donations for medical-related supplies that will be used to restock clinics.  So far, the American Sunrise, a non-profit community builder founded by Cisneros and his wife Mary Alice, has raised more than $11,000, with 100% of the funds benefitting the ConPRmetidos organization.

And, as another reminder, just as our friends in Mexico assisted Texas with Hurricane Harvey recovery, Texas stands ready to help Mexico City and the surrounding areas that were affected by earthquakes. If you are interested in making a donation to assist the victims of Mexico’s earthquake, our friends at Vantage Bank Texas have set up a special fund. You may donate by:
