The San Antonio Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors reaffirmed the election of Shaun D. Kennedy, San Antonio Regional Chairman of Texas Capital Bank, as the 2018 Chairman of the Board. Kennedy has been serving as Chair-elect during 2017.
Kennedy has more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. His extensive background includes multiple areas of Banking including: Commercial/Corporate Banking, Commercial Real Estate, Retail Banking, Private Banking, Investment Management and Fiduciary Services.
Active in professional, civic and charitable organizations in San Antonio, Kennedy presently serves as Vice Chair of the Children’s Shelter Foundation, a member of the UT Health Development Board, a 2018 Chair-elect/2019 Chairman of the Board of the Texas Business Hall of Fame, a member of the St. Mary’s University Greehey School of Business Advisory Council of Executives, and Co-Chair of the 2017/2018 United Way Development Committee. In addition, he is actively involved with the special needs community of San Antonio, including: Arc of San Antonio, the Down Syndrome Association of San Antonio, Special Olympics, and the Academy at Morgan’s Wonderland.
He has served on the board of directors of the Texas Bankers Association, and he is a member of the Young Presidents Organization/World Presidents Organization – San Antonio Chapter. Kennedy was selected as a 2003-2004 Leadership San Antonio XXIX participant.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Bradley University as well as an MBA from Illinois State University, and he attended the University of Virginia Graduate School of Bank Management.
The Board of Directors also elected Paula Gold-Williams as the 2018 Chair-elect. Gold-Williams is the President and CEO of CPS Energy.
Gold-Williams has more than 30 years of leadership experience in San Antonio, including being a Regional Controller for Time Warner’s cable and telephony regional office and the VP of Finance for Luby’s, Inc., before joining CPS Energy in late 2004. Over her 12 years at CPS Energy, she has progressively served as Controller & Assistant Treasurer; VP & Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) – Organizational Excellence & Shared Services; EVP, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) & Treasurer; and Group EVP – Financial & Administrative Services, CFO & Treasurer.
In addition to her role at CPS Energy, Gold-Williams presently serves as Chair on the Advisory Committee of Executives (ACE) for St. Mary’s University’s Greehey School of Business, her undergraduate alma mater, co-chair of the Keystone Policy and Energy Boards, a board member of The University of the Incarnate Word, a board member of San Antonio’s public television station, KLRN, and is a member of its Executive Committee. She also serves on the Advisory Committee of The University of Texas at San Antonio’s School of Engineering, the Advisory Council for Haven for Hope, and is as Advisory Trustee to both the Southwest Research Institute (SwRI), an internationally recognized center of excellence in applied research and development, as well as FM Global, an international mutual insurance company. She is also a member of the San Antonio Medical Foundation (SAMF).
Gold-Williams has an Associate Degree in Fine Arts from San Antonio College. She holds a BBA in Accounting from St. Mary’s University as well as a Finance & Accounting MBA from Regis University in Denver, Colorado. She became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA).
