The SA Works team and Junior Achievement are preparing for another amazing Job Shadow Day, and they are still looking for employers to register and serve as sites for the annual event, which will be Friday, February 2, 2018. Building off their success in 2017, SA Works is looking to place more than 3,000 students in various worksites across the county. In 2017, SA Works and Junior Achievement were able to place more than 3,000 students from 15 school districts, 2 private schools and 5 charter schools.
On Job Shadow Day, students typically stay at an employer site from 9:30 AM- 1 PM. Employers who register will be able to select how many students they can host on their site as well as any specific programs of study they wish to have visit them on that day.
Participating in Job Shadow day not only allows as students to connect with the world of work, but it also provides employers the opportunity to communicate with students about the benefits of working in their respective industries. In fact, in a survey provided to students after Job Shadow Day 2017, 86% of the students said they would consider working with the employer they visited that day.
No business is too big or too small, so be sure to register today! If you are interested in registering for Job Shadow Day 2018 please visit this LINK or contact Shauna Goodman, SA Works Program Director, at firstname.lastname@example.org
