Rosemary Kowalski to receive Chamber’s 2018 Pathfinder Award

On September 10, your Chamber will be honoring Rosemary Kowalski, founder of The RK Group, with our esteemed Pathfinder Award. Recipients of this prestigious award truly exhibit innovative methods that greatly improve the welfare and livelihood of businesses, employees and those living in the San Antonio area.

Rosemary’s story begins in 1946, when she began catering private parties expanding on the small barbecue diner she and her husband owned. The small catering company, then known as Rosemary’s Catering, quickly grew to become one of the most preferred in the San Antonio area. In 1968, Rosemary’s Catering was the preferred caterer for San Antonio’s top social and business events, and during the Hemisfair, the company served as the official caterer for 105 of the 112 pavilion celebrations at the World’s Fair. As time progressed so did demand, the business expanded offering equipment rentals, floral designs, and much more.

As a female entrepreneur, Rosemary has become a role model for many women who have crossed her path. Around the city, she is well known for being actively involved and for her philanthropic efforts in San Antonio’s cultural, arts, human service, religious, and educational organizations. Throughout her impressive career, Rosemary has been on many advisory boards like the San Antonio Area Foundation, San Antonio River Foundation, and Lighthouse for the Blind to name a few.

We are proud to present our most distinguished award to Rosemary for her visionary leadership and her dedication to the San Antonio community! We look forward to adding her to our list of accomplished, admired, and amazing list of Pathfinder recipients that includes: Governor Rick Perry, Governor Dolph Briscoe, Ed Whitaker, Red McCombs, Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison, David Robinson, Charlie Amato, and Gary Dudley.
