Join more than 150 key business and community leaders, who will travel to Austin to advocate for the needs of San Antonio. ¡VIVA San Antonio! is set for March 5, 2019, and registration is open now! We encourage you to take advantage of our special holiday rate of $85 available now through Cyber Monday. After November 27 the rate will jump back up to $100.
This year we are making ¡VIVA San Antonio! a full-day event, which includes transportation from the Alamo City up to the State Capital. The day will kick-off with registration at the brand-new VIA Stone Oak Park & Ride. From there, we will jump on buses and make our way up to Austin, allowing you time to use the WiFi, catch up on e-mails, read the newspaper, or simply relax. Once we arrive in Austin, we will begin with a keynote brunch. Following brunch, attendees will participate in issue team meetings with state legislators and agency leaders to discuss topics that are important to San Antonio. After a successful day of advocacy, the event will conclude with a reception, a great opportunity to mix and mingle with legislators, staff and Chamber leadership.
Your San Antonio Chamber of Commerce hosted a ¡VIVA San Antonio! Kick-off meeting this week to get attendees excited about the Chamber’s largest legislative advocacy day at the State Capital. The room was packed with business and community leaders from every industry, all committed to joining an issue team and meeting with our state lawmakers to tell our story.
During the meeting, our event Chair J.D. Salinas III, Director of External and Legislative Affairs for AT&T, laid out his theme for the trip – Building an Entrepreneurial City. An entrepreneurial city is one that fosters innovative ideas, collaboration, effective problem solving, resiliency and talent to create jobs and ignite the economy. San Antonio is a great example of an entrepreneurial city. In fact, the city is recognized by Forbes as a great place to do business. For companies looking to locate or expand, San Antonio offers superb infrastructure, a pro-business environment, a low cost to do business, a workforce of over one million, and a high standard in quality of life. J.D. highlighted how our community hits every characteristic of an entrepreneurial city, but we need the right local, state and federal policy to go even further. That is our task for ¡VIVA San Antonio!.
The Chamber continues to build a strong and vibrant business community by engaging business owners, policymakers, and community leaders in addressing issues and identifying opportunities important to San Antonio and Bexar County. Click here for the Chamber’s state legislative agenda.
