Opportunity for San Antonio entrepreneurs to pitch to suppliers

The time is now for Texas entrepreneurs to apply for a chance at the big break they’ve been looking for! Now through April 30, Walmart is accepting applications for the 6th annual Open Call for products that support American jobs.

Open Call is a unique opportunity for companies with products that are made, sourced or grown in the U.S. to meet face-to-face with a Walmart buyer on June 19 at Walmart headquarters in Bentonville, Arkansas.

Last year, nearly 600 pitch meetings transpired over the two days, ending in business partnerships and achieved lifelong goals. When it comes to replicating the level of success this time around, San Antonio upstarts and small businesses are invited to get off the ground and onto Walmart’s shelves.

It wouldn’t be the first time San Antonio residents made their dreams a reality at the Open Call opportunity. San Antonio entrepreneur and Marine Corps veteran Greg Carter serves as one of the many individuals who made the supply jump as the owner of Kleenhanz — an alcohol-free sanitary hand wipe.

“San Antonio is Military City USA and, as a Marine Corps veteran, I am honored to serve as a success story for the Walmart Open Call process and to partner with a company that values veterans,” Carter said. “Open Call offers anyone a chance to see their product on Walmart shelves and it has been an outstanding opportunity to have Kleenhanz, 100% alcohol free hand wipes, distributed nationally.”

The deadline for applicants is April 30. Interested parties can apply at
