This week, Paula Gold-Williams released a statement announcing that she is stepping down from her position as Chair of the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. Unfortunately, because of the paid sick leave lawsuit between the City of San Antonio and a group of business plaintiffs, Paula found herself in the middle of a legal conflict between her parent organization and the business community which proved to be untenable.
Please know that her announcement is not a rushed decision on her part, but rather a very difficult decision made in direct consultation with me. I am of course saddened by the decision but support her completely. Being a leader with integrity, she felt resigning was the best course of action given the situation. As you know, she has led us through a very busy and successful first half of the year, and we will miss her leadership, energy, and commitment to this Chamber!
