The Chamber is delighted to welcome Rose Deveraux, who is our new Vice President of Finance.
Rose is a San Antonio native, graduating from Harlandale High School and University of Texas at San Antonio, with a bachelor’s degree in business management. After her schooling, she moved to Alaska, where she began her financial career.
After a few years, Rose and her husband moved to the latter’s hometown of Salt Lake City, Utah, where Rose worked for the city’s convention and visitors bureau for 20 years. During this time, she earned her MBA from Westminster College.
“I love the culture in San Antonio and am grateful to be back home,” she said. “I’ve spent most of my life in other states, but I’m truly back where my heart is. I’m thankful to be working in the middle of everything happening in my hometown, and I look forward to building a rapport with the city’s business community.”
Since returning to the Alamo City, she has worked for the Briscoe Museum of Art, Labor on Demand, and Integrity HR Management. Her work experience has lent a desire to run financial departments in “progressive ways,” fusing her expertise with auditing, startups, and people skills to keep businesses “vibrant and continuing to prosper,” she said.
“Rose brings years of relevant and applicable experience to her new role at the Chamber, and I could not be more proud to welcome her to my team of rock stars,” said Richard Perez, President and CEO of the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce. “She is eager to build relationships with local business leaders to understand how the Chamber can better serve the business community, and I know she will be a great asset to this organization as we strive to be the best stewards of our members’ investments.”
Outside of work, Rose plays the piano, first learning to tickle the ivories at age five. She also regularly gardens and plays tennis to stay active.
Rose has wasted no time getting into her groove here at the Chamber, and we look forward to the impact her skills and personality will impact on San Antonio’s business community.
