Bexar County Commissioners Court Proclaims October 2019 National Cybersecurity Awareness Month

Did you know that 60% of small and medium-sized businesses go out of business within six months of a cyber attack?  Protecting your business and creating a cyber incident response plan is critical – and October is the best time to learn how to take the first step.

In its 16th year, the National Cybersecurity Alliance and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Agency (CISA) declared October as NCSAM with the 2019 theme of “Own IT. Secure IT. Protect IT.” Check out the #BeCyberSmart hashtag to learn more, and visit the StaySafeOnline website to find best practices.

Home of the second largest concentration of cybersecurity professionals in the United States, San Antonio is recognized as a global cyber hub.  On Tuesday, October 15, the Bexar County Commissioners Court proclaimed October 2019 as National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (NCSAM). In partnership with the Chamber and CyberSecurity San Antonio, the County strives to protect residents and empower people with the tools to obtain a career in cybersecurity.  On behalf of our 2,100 members, including nearly 400 people within the Cyber Industry Council alone, we encourage you to discuss digital safety and cybersecurity with your friends and family.
