Help us make San Antonio a welcoming community

In 2019, San Antonio became one of the communities selected by the New American Economy (NAE) and Welcoming America as a Gateways for Growth community, receiving research on the impact immigrants have on the local economy. The report was released at an event at LaunchSA in May 2019 and is available for download.

As part of the designation, the city has engaged local stakeholders in developing a community-informed strategic plan to make San Antonio welcoming to newcomers. In partnership with the City of San Antonio, the Chamber convened an initial Charrette in July to identify barriers to success for newcomers and recommendations to overcome them.

We invite you to join us for a second exercise on Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2019 at the Central Library Auditorium at 600 Soledad St. as we finalize our recommendations for our community.
