SA Chamber hosts Colorado Springs Chamber delegation for military and cyber discussions

Your San Antonio Chamber of Commerce’s Military Affairs council was excited to host 15 guests from the Colorado Springs Chamber & EDC for an afternoon series of discussions centered on cybersecurity, partnerships, and veteran and military spouse hiring initiatives. The purpose of their visit was to engage with the San Antonio community to generate creative improvement ideas for the Pikes Peak Region in the areas of community and military relations, defense industry strength and industry diversification. The guests were finishing up a trip to San Antonio for the Association of Defense Communities Installation Innovation Forum, where representatives from more than 100 installations, 200 communities and states, and top industry experts gathered to focus on defining the future of innovation and sharing best practices related to infrastructure support and base operations to resiliency and quality of life.

The afternoon’s roundtables included our partners who are active in our councils and committees which focus on Military Affairs and Cybersecurity. It was a perfect opportunity to share what’s happening in Military City USA, but also to gain insight into what’s going on in the Colorado Springs area.  Leaders who are key in the Joint Base San Antonio’s P4 program (Public-Public, Public-Private) from both the military and civilian industry, as well as leaders for San Antonio’s Military Spouse Fellowships and Veteran Transitioning initiatives were in attendance to carry forward a message of innovation and partnership to lift up the quality of life of our military members and to support our military missions across the region.

The afternoon ended with a small reception where our local Military Affairs Council members joined the visitors in casual networking and relationship building.  For information on the Chamber’s Cybersecurity efforts, please contact Amanda Keammerer at akeammerer@sachamber.org and for our Military Affairs efforts related to Partnerships, Veteran Transitioning or Military Spouse Hiring, please contact Lori Stinson at lstinson@sachamber.org.
