We cannot thank you enough for making #WeHeartSAHeroes a success. With the help of businesses, organizations, and residents from across the community, we shared a united appreciation for the essential workers who continue to keep our city running.
More than four months have passed since the initial Stay Home, Work Safe Order took effect in San Antonio and Bexar County, and we are still living adjusted lifestyles to help limit the number of COVID-19 cases in our community. But, what hasn’t changed is the grit, determination, and commitment of our essential workers and the services they provide during a most unusual time.
Our President & CEO Richard Perez put these thoughts to paper in an Op-Ed appearing in today’s issue of the San Antonio Express-News. “These folks have worked unselfishly and very hard over the past four months to meet our needs, and we believe it is time to take a few moments to thank them for their epic feats,” he said.
Additional gratitude is in order for our members and partners who helped steer and deliver this ambitious campaign, including iHeart Media, NuStar, San Antonio Express News, San Antonio Visitor Alliance, United Way, University Health System, UT Health San Antonio, Valero, Walmart, and Whataburger.
Our campaign may be coming to a close, but don’t let that stop you from showing your appreciation for San Antonio’s heroes. A show of thanks can be as simple as making heart hands, decorating your car, or recording a short video. Then, snap a picture and share it on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or all three, tagging weheartSAheroes and using #weheartSAheroes.
