Your Chamber submitted a letter to our Bexar County Delegation urging them to pass a fifth Coronavirus Relief Package to address the severity of the economic and public health crisis we are still experiencing. The pandemic continues to hold a tight grip on our 1,850 area business members, and the expiration date on previous funding relief is quickly approaching.
The priorities outlined in the letter are a direct result of the ongoing discussions that have been had with business members of all sizes across the major industries in San Antonio. Below are the four provisions we urged the Bexar County Delegation to support in the next coronavirus relief package:
- Financial assistance for businesses and/or organizations adversely affected by COVID-19 that have not received loans or grants or expended them in accordance with guidance, through previous relief packages.
- Federal aid for educational needs of States, school districts, and institutions of higher education in response to COVID-19.
- Timely, temporary, and targeted liability protections for those that work to follow public health guidelines.
- Federal aid with the flexibility for state and local governments to use toward budget shortfalls caused by COVID-19.
Your San Antonio Chamber of Commerce feels each of the provisions listed above will help businesses and industries adversely affected by the coronavirus get through this crisis. If you have any questions about the letter or the Chamber’s Federal Legislative Priorities, please contact Stephanie Reyes, Vice President of Public Policy, by email at email@example.com or by phone at 210-229-2162.
