Your San Antonio Chamber of Commerce is excited to once again bring our annual Celebrate America’s Military events to life. This year is the 50th Anniversary of the festivities which aim to honor the past, present, and future of our Armed Forces and specifically to celebrate the Service Men and Women who live, work, and play in “Military City USA” and provide invaluable security for our Nation. Traditionally, the community would be planning more than 70 events in the short two-week span leading up to Veterans Day. However, this year we will provide virtual events in lieu of in-person events and look forward to not being limited by location or region. By hosting these events virtually, we will have a much broader reach to our military mission partners, even those who live and work outside of San Antonio.
In addition, as we commemorate 50 years of CAM, we are honored to go back to our roots, celebrating our veterans and recognizing their sacrifices to our great nation.
On Tuesday, November 3, we will kick-off our CAM virtual festivities with a Prayer Event to honor Military Chaplains featuring Major General Daniel R. Walrath, Commanding General, United States Army South. This event will bring together Military Chaplains of all faiths from the Army, Navy, and Air Force for an inspirational and motivational hour. Join community and military leaders to learn more about the role of the Military Chaplain in our Armed Forces and to honor their service to our military members and families and the invaluable work they accomplish supporting our military missions around the globe.
Join us Thursday, November 5, as we host the CAM SNCO Reception to honor the Senior Non-Commissioned Officers based in Military City, USA. This annual CAM event features SNCOs from all services in a fun and festive atmosphere.
On Tuesday, November 11, the San Antonio Chamber will once again host the Spirit of America event. This premiere event of Celebrate Americas Military features a keynote address by retired United States Army Major General Patrick Brady, Vietnam Veteran and Medal of Honor Recipient.
“Even though we aren’t meeting in person, we hope to provide an opportunity for our Community members to show their appreciation for our Military neighbors as well as provide an opportunity for our Military men and women to show their appreciation to organizations and businesses that support them – not just on Veterans Day but year round, “ said Lori Stinson, Vice President of Military Affairs and Leadership development at the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce.
All the events above are free to attend and will be held live via WebEx and will be recorded for future viewing. Visit www.celebrateamericasmilitary.com for details on other events being hosted by Community Members, as well as registration links and sponsorship information.
If you have an event you would like to share between November 1st through November 16th, or if you have questions about CAM, please email Lori Stinson at email@example.com.
We look forward to “seeing” you all to Celebrate America’s Military!
