The COVID-19 pandemic has drastically affected how all of us live, work and play. This year’s Girl Scout Cookie season is no different. You would usually see Girl Scouts in front of neighborhood stores practicing their selling skills; but to keep girls, volunteers and customers safe, Girl Scouts are opting to sell more cookies online and make contactless deliveries to porches all across San Antonio.
With every sale, the Girl Scout Cookie Program teaches girls how to think like entrepreneurs, run their own small businesses and learn the critical skills of goal setting, people skills, and decision making—which are imperative for any leadership role. The challenges girls face have become more difficult to overcome, especially with the year-long pandemic affecting the emotional and social well-being of all girls. This is why the Girl Scout mission remains so vitally important in today’s world.
To help Girl Scouts get closer to this year’s cookie-selling goals, H-E-B is leading the business community in the first-ever Girl Scout Cookies for Courage initiative by donating $25,000 worth of Girl Scout Cookies to local healthcare heroes who are showing our city’s courage on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Girl Scouts have made it easy for your business to help too! Simply visit www.girlscouts-swtx.org/CookiesforCourage and tell them how many boxes of cookies you would like to donate. Girl Scout Cookie purchases received by Friday, Feb. 19 will be included in a special kick-off event on Feb. 23.
