The San Antonio Chamber of Commerce’s Senior Enlisted Advisory Committee (SEAC) met to discuss the benefits of collaboration and partnership, outside of the installation, as well as between the services and members in uniform. After receiving a brief update on the history and mission of the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, attendees reviewed goals and objectives for the remainder of the year. The Senior Enlisted Advisory Committee is comprised of Chamber business members and is:
  • A forum for Senior Enlisted Leaders from all military branches to communicate across service lines.
  • A link for our military with our business and civilian community.
  • A helping hand to identify and address the community-related concerns of our military men and women and their families.
  • A way to strengthen cross-service ties and interaction.
SEAC Chairman, Grant Hegner, Lead Associate, Military and Veteran Affairs, Corporate Affairs, Booz Allen Hamilton, has been busy meeting with select Senior Enlisted leaders from throughout Joint Base San Antonio and is leading the effort to meet the needs of these vital service members who are the backbone of our Military. Common themes identified through the discussions have been the need to develop meaningful networking opportunities and relationships and continue to assist in transition from uniform to civilian careers. Partnerships remain critical to the support of the quality of life for our service members and their families. The SEAC will continue to work toward creating solutions to challenges faced by our soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines within the Active, Guard, and Reserve components, as well. Tackling issues such as the shortage in childcare, the quality of housing on and off the installation, the value of mental health and wellness and suicide awareness, as well as making important connections to aid in career opportunities for our transitioning service members will be high on the agenda in the coming year. The SEAC meets the fourth Tuesday of each month from 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. via Zoom. The meetings are open to our Military Service representatives and Chamber business members interested in connecting with our senior enlisted leaders.
