Chamber hosts three run-off election candidate forums, with one more today

The City Council run-off election for Districts 1,2,3, 5 and 9 is less than two weeks away, with early voting starting on Monday, May 24. Your Chamber wants to ensure that residents are aware of where candidates stand on key business issues. Earlier this week, your Chamber hosted City Council Candidate Forums for Districts 1, 3, and 9. To engage a broader and more diverse audience, the forums were streamed live on Facebook, giving viewers a chance to submit questions on a broad range of issues, including the current employment gap and ensuring the city is prepared for future winter storms.

While the Chamber does not endorse political candidates, we do understand the integral role our elected leaders play in ensuring a San Antonio maintains strong business-friendly climate. The relationship between the business community and our City Council is essential for economic prosperity in San Antonio, and that is why we were pleased to host these Facebook Live City Council Candidate Forums.

2021 is a very critical time for San Antonio, as our business community continues its road to recovery and back to the strong economic powerhouse it was pre-pandemic. We believe it is vital that San Antonio elect Council Members who will ensure San Antonio has a successful recovery and maintains its business-friendly climate.
