Chamber Members Mingle in View of San Antonio’s Most Famous Landmark

Last week, the Alamo Trust hosted the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, members, and guests at La Vista Terrace. Nearly 200 people came to make connections, see old friends, make new ones, and unwind while overlooking the Alamo.

The staff of the Alamo Trust were incredibly accommodating and attentive and set the bar high for hosted events. The venue, four floors above Alamo Plaza, afforded attendees a rare view from a new perspective as the sun set on the Alamo. It is important to know the Alamo Trust leases out the space for private events, with a few dates available through 2021.

Kate Rogers, Executive Director of Alamo Trust, gave a brief update of the Alamo Plan, including the latest developments and where the project stands. She extended an invitation to Chamber members to join the Alamo Trust as a “Friend of the Alamo,” so they can play a larger role in the shrine’s preservation. Don Strange of Texas Catering pulled out all the stops by providing the group with first-rate cuisine. The menu consisted of watermelon and feta skewers, cilantro lime shrimp, brisket empanadas, mini churros in pink icing, along with a chips and salsa station. Don Strange went on to provide a unique and refreshing cocktail called the Alamo Paloma, which had folks lined up just for a taste. Not only was the food scrumptious but they also proved the décor of flowers and linens, making the evening truly first-class service. Don Strange of Texas is a third-generation, family-owned business, who has been serving the region for 70 years. The company is available to serve your guests at your next event. We would like to thank all who attended and provided door prizes for this event.

With yet another successful networking event added to the books, the Chamber is already finalizing the next event for September. Global Cres in Windcrest will be hosting a Chamber Business Connections Mixer on September 16. We are looking forward to seeing you there!
