The Chamber’s Aerospace Committee formed two working groups charged with creating an aerospace education resource guide for PreK-12 educators and with collecting and communicating industry feedback for educators and workforce program administrators. The Aerospace team continues its outreach to educators and aerospace education organizations across the region to build a comprehensive guide that educators can use to bring additional aerospace resources into the classroom and expose students to aerospace careers. The guide focuses on in-classroom programs, but also includes resources for students and families to use outside of school.
The Aerospace Committee is also contacting local aerospace businesses to arrange for interviews concerning workforce concerns and future hiring needs. The committee’s goal is to collect industry feedback on workforce gaps and emerging requirements for workforce training. The committee will provide their findings to education and training programs across the region to inform and help shape curricula to meet the aerospace industry’s future workforce expectations.
