Chamber’s Own Cacie Madrid Promoted to Vice President of Public Policy

Your Chamber is proud to announce the promotion of our own Cacie Madrid to the position of Vice President of Public Policy. Cacie has previously served as the Chamber’s Assistant Vice President of Public Policy for the last year.

Originally a Houston native, Cacie graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government. Before coming to the Chamber, she served as the Public Policy Specialist for the Alzheimer’s Association – San Antonio & South Texas Chapter. With nearly 10 years of involvement in public policy and advocacy efforts, she has a deep understanding of what it takes to be an effective policy analyst and how to advance policy goals and coordinate advocacy initiatives.

As a current Chamber employee, she is already familiar with the important issues and players in San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas, and the Federal Government, making her transition into the new role smooth and seamless. She has already overseen meetings with the Public Policy Council and events large and small, such as our State of the County with Judge Nelson Wolff and the HD 118 Special Election Candidate Forum. Cacie and the Chamber’s public policy team’s next big assignment is the 2022 edition of SA to DC—our largest annual advocacy trip to our nation’s capital.

“I am extremely grateful to work alongside individuals dedicated to advancing San Antonio businesses and leaders, as well as the success of the San Antonio community. This has been an exciting and rewarding opportunity,” Cacie said. “I look forward to highlighting what makes the San Antonio community strong, while developing sound policies that contribute to the success of individuals and the community they call home.”

Outside of work, Cacie enjoys spending time with her husband Chris and golden retriever Lady Bird. She enjoys running, bicycling, live music, and travel. She is currently pursuing a Master of Public Health from Tulane University.
