“The GREAT Debate” - Sakai, Nirenberg to Face Off in High-Profile Debate Hosted by The Greater San Antonio Chamber, San Antonio Report and Tech Bloc
WHAT:
Bexar County Judge Peter Sakai and former San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg will square off in a high-profile public forum, The Great Debate, where each candidate will lay out a clear vision for the future of Bexar County. The event is hosted by the Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, the San Antonio Report, and Tech Bloc. Moderated by journalists from the San Antonio Report, the forum will press the candidates on the most consequential challenges facing the county: management of the courts, jail, and elections; the redevelopment of the Frost Bank Center, fairgrounds, and surrounding facilities; and leadership on economic development, infrastructure, and public safety. The discussion will give voters the chance to hear directly from the candidates on how they would govern and what distinguishes their approaches. Sakai and Nirenberg are competing for the Democratic nomination for Bexar County Judge in the March 3 primary. Early voting begins Feb. 17. The Democratic nominee will advance to the November general election to face Republican Patrick Von Dohlen, the sole GOP candidate to file this year.
