Col. Tim Farrell, U.S. Air Force (Retired) currently serves as the Vice President of Military Affairs, Aerospace & Cybersecurity at the Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce.
Tim leads all Military Affairs initiatives and efforts on behalf of the over 1,750 business members and advocates for all branches of service and duty status within Joint Base San Antonio. He serves as the Principal Staff Lead for the Military Affairs Council, Aerospace Council, Cybersecurity Council and, Celebrate America’s Military Committee.
Tim has had an array of experience in the Military sector. For more than a decade after a 23-year U.S. Air Force career that brought to him Military City USA, first as the commander of the Air Force Security Forces Academy at Joint Base San Antonio and then as a private citizen, Tim has led and advocated at executive and board levels within multiple impactful local and national organizations, at the nexus of military/veteran/family support, education, trade, and national and economic security. Tim also served our city government and citizens as a San Antonio City Council-appointed member of the Veterans Affairs Commission; and has collaborated extensively with state and federal agency and legislative offices, and with like-minded advocates including the Association of Defense Communities and the wider national military and veteran-serving nonprofit community.
He continues to serve locally and nationally as a trustee of both the World Affairs Council of San Antonio and the Planned Giving Council of San Antonio, as a Texas advisor and one of the leading “Veterans for Smart Power” with the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition, and in a different uniform for Friday Night Lights as a Texas Association of Sports Officials high school football official.
Tim holds a bachelor of arts in Economics from Rutgers University, a master of science in Administration from Central Michigan University, and an executive certificate in Transformational Nonprofit Leadership from the University of Notre Dame.
But most importantly, he’s Gina’s husband, and Aidan and Keagan’s dad.
