The San Antonio Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Council was proud to host this year’s Executive Leadership Development Program (ELDP) at a reception to celebrate its 30th year of training Department of Defense (DoD) future enterprise leaders.
More than 65 high-potential DoD and Active Duty personnel joined Chamber staff and Military Affairs Council members for networking as an important part to their two-week San Antonio tour of duty. The ELDP is a Secretary of Defense initiative designed to meet one of the Department’s top transformational priorities – leader development. Participants are selected in a nomination process by their units and organizations.
Throughout the year, participants travel to various DoD locations and receive training at the tactical and operational levels of leadership, as well as receive a strategic awareness of DoD priorities and a joint perspective from sister services. At the reception, these future leaders learned that it is important to reach “outside the gates” to include city, community and business partners in endeavors. They were able to make some invaluable networking connections to assist them in future public and private projects related to their areas of expertise.
The Chamber continues to value our Military and community connections and looks forward to supporting this successful and worthy DoD program for years to come.
