Via launched their new Viva bus routes on Monday, June 6, connecting commuters to the most-visited entertainment, dining and cultural destinations around downtown San Antonio. There are three core objectives of Via’s new Viva service routes: Culture, Missions and Centro. Route 11 connects riders with some of San Antonio’s most exciting cultural spots. The Witte museum, Brackenridge Park, the San Antonio Zoo, the DoSeum, the Pearl, and the San Antonio Museum of Art are just a few of the destinations you can travel to with this new route. Route 11 concludes past South Alamo street so you’ll be able to stop for an exquisite dinner after visiting Hemisfair park. If you’re looking for a more scenic trip the Missions path, route 40, will take you to the historic San Antonio Missions, which are now a World Heritage Site. You’ll start out at the Alamo, our City’s most popular piece of history. You’ll then visit Mission Concepcion and Mission San Jose, eventually ending your journey at Mission San Juan off Ashley Road. Finally, route 301, dubbed Centro, will take you through the heart of downtown San Antonio. You’ll visit the Alamo, Market Square, Travis Park, the Majestic Theater and River Center Mall. If you have a few hours to spare or are just looking to explore parts of San Antonio without dealing with maneuvering through traffic yourself, these three new service routes from Via can connect you to exciting parts of town. Focused on taking passengers on a tour through our City’s best attractions, Via’s new Viva service routes will connect residents with more options on how to experience what the Alamo city has to offer.
