Morgan’s Wonderland wants to know if there are any individuals, in your personal or professional life, that you believe are a true inspiration or hero to yourself or the community despite their physical hurdles.  Nominations for their 2016 Wall of Fame honorees are pouring in and with a deadline of August 1, the time is now to help these everyday heroes get the recognition they deserve. It could be a co-worker, employee, friend or family member who gives back to the community and positively impacts the lives of those around them, all the while doing so with a disability. The Chamber encourages you to submit your nominations. “It might be a student who, regardless of a disability, perseveres at school and inspires other students,” said Ron Morander, general manager of Morgan’s Wonderland. “It could be a military member injured in the line of duty who embraces life despite immense physical challenges and serves as a role model for others. Or a dedicated employee with special needs who has earned the admiration of a supervisor and peers for a job well done or someone who works directly with the special-needs community to provide incredible assistance,” Morander added. With more than twenty-five attractions that are 100% wheelchair-accessible, there is no setting more appropriate for honoring these individuals than Morgan’s Wonderland. Five honorees will be selected and honored at the Free to Soar Gala on Saturday, September 24. Their names will be etched on the Wall of Fame to be viewed by the thousands of people who visit the park. Paralympics bronze medalist Amy Purdy will be the Gala’s special guest of honor. Morgan’s Wonderland will review nominations with The Gordon Hartman Family Foundation as well as with select special advisors. Submissions should not be more than two pages and can be submitted at this link. For more information on the park, call 210-495-5888.
