The Chamber was happy to join the celebration as the PTSD Foundation of American held its grand opening for its new Warm Springs Rehab Hospital off Jones Maltsberger. This center will focus on helping returning veterans successfully reintegrate and deal with post-traumatic stress. The Warm Springs Rehab Hospital opened the doors to its 6,000 square-foot facility on Friday, July 8.  Made possible by donations, the Hospital will serve as a place where veterans can meet with others dealing with similar situations.  The center is run by combat veterans who have PTSD and will accommodate first responders as well. A recent VA study reported a drop in veteran suicides from 22 per day to 20 per day.  While this is movement in the right direction, it clearly indicates the continuing severity of the problem and the need for facilities like that opened by the PTSD Foundation, particularly in the Military City USA with the second largest veteran population in the country.
