Last week, your Chamber teamed up with the 25th Air Force for the fourth session of our Military Speaker Series. Chamber members were invited by the Commander of the 25th Air Force, Major General Bradford "BJ" Shwedo, to an "insider's" visit and given a rare look into the facility at Security Hill. All visitors enjoyed a delicious meal topped off with an informative and timely presentation on the 25th AF mission, ensuring the safety of Americans through multi-source intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance products, applications, capabilities and resources. Their expertise in electronic warfare, strategic command and control and integration of cyber teams and mission forces across the services is unparalleled. Maj Gen Shwedo’s state of the art facilities and presentation materials were intriguing and enabled guests a behind the scenes look into the 25th AF capabilities in both tactical and national level operations of warfighting, as well as a glimpse into the 25th AF support of the education and training of future airmen through a creative competency and proficiency based approach using applications and games. San Antonio is fortunate to have such skilled, talented, and patriotic partners ensuring our safety around the world. We are grateful to our presenting sponsor, USAA, as well as our gold sponsor, Security Service Federal Credit Union, and bronze sponsor, Spurs Sports and Entertainment, whose support was invaluable in the success of the event. Of the over 60 attendees, the Chamber also welcomed the City of San Antonio Mayor, Ivy Taylor, as well as the University of Texas at San Antonio President, Dr. Ricardo Romo. The Chamber was fortunate to join the 25th AF Team to share an awareness of this most special asset in San Antonio. We continue to be grateful for their efforts in our great city and for their service to our Nation.
