The San Antonio Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors approved the 2017 Federal Legislative Agenda during its December meeting. This document sets out the Chamber’s official position on a wide range of political issues impacting our business community. Priorities on the agenda are efforts to ensure federal government policies are conducive to a strong local business climate and adequately support quality economic growth. Developing the agenda was a collaborative process that began early this year. The Chamber gathered input on policy and legislative strategy through the priorities identified by the Board, Chamber councils and committees. The legislative agenda reflects our belief that federal government can be a valuable partner in propelling business success. The 115th Congressional Session began yesterday, January 3rd.  Much of the Chamber’s focus for this congressional session is economic development through job creation, business expansion and workforce development. In addition, the Chamber will work towards supporting an innovative energy sector, multi-modal transportation system, military basing efforts and future U.S. Army Corps of Engineers projects. In addition, we continue to keep our congressional leaders engaged and informed about the federal priorities that are important to the San Antonio business community.
