UNITED SA Credit Union hosted a food and funds drive in December to support the San Antonio Food Bank. The credit union had collection sites at all of its five branches in San Antonio and Boerne and also set up a virtual food drive where members could donate online.
In addition to these collection efforts, the credit union held separate staff fundraisers to support the initiative. UNITED SA employees could donate $6 each Friday during the drive, which allowed them to wear jeans and tennis shoes to work. There was also a raffle at the company holiday party, which raised $545 towards the total donation. In total, the drive raised $1,015, which the San Antonio Food Bank can turn into over 7,100 meals for people in need in the community.
UNITED SA President & CEO Kyle Ashley commented, “We are pleased to be able to support the San Antonio Food Bank and help them make a difference in the lives of members of our community, many of whom struggle to put food on the table. This is especially evident during the holiday season. I’m proud of the effort of our members and staff to support this vitally important community resource.”
