The LiftFund Women’s Business Center is seeking participants for the Women’s Business Accelerator (WBA) program. This comprehensive accelerator is designed for women entrepreneurs in San Antonio looking to take their business to the next level.
“The number of women-owned businesses continues to increase, however the employment rate and revenues for women-owned firms has remained stagnant over the years,” said Margot Slosson, Women’s Business Center Director. “This is not only at the national level, but locally as well. We saw a need in our community for mentoring and support geared towards established women-owned firms, and developed the WBA program to give women the tools and confidence to position them for growth.”
The Women’s Business Accelerator Program runs from September 12 - October 31, 2017. The eight-week program will include expert-led workshops, one-on-one meetings with mentors and peer to peer networking.
Mentors and speakers will coach and support business owners, both in group and one-on-one scenarios, focusing on four key topics: growth strategy, marketing, sales and finance. Other topics address personal issues, such as maintaining a work/life balance and gaining confidence as a person and as a business owner.
Over the course of the program, participants will take part in a combination of expert led workshops, one-on-one meetings with mentors and peer-to-peer discussions all designed to help them improve their business processes and set a solid foundation for growth. Through networking with other small business owners, participants will develop a solid support system.
“This program has a combination of both hard and soft skills designed to address unique challenges that female entrepreneurs face, while helping the participants foster peer and mentor relationships that last well beyond the end of the program,” said Margot Slosson, Women’s Business Center Director.
The application is available at http://www.liftfund.com/wba/, and will remain open until August 7, 2017.
