Over the past few months, a string of natural disasters have heavily impacted the United States and our neighbors. As a community, our prayers are with those who have lost loved ones, and our hearts go out to all who have been affected.
One of the most devastated areas is an often overlooked U.S. territory, Puerto Rico, and Americans are still suffering as almost 75 percent of the island lacks electricity and approximately one million people still lack running water.
On October 7, Former Mayor and Chamber Chairman Henry Cisneros, along with Mayor Nirenberg, launched a campaign to raise money for medically related supplies to continue to help restock the clinics. So far, the American Sunrise, a non-profit community builder founded by Cisneros and his wife, have raised almost $14,000, but we can still do more to help.
