Yesterday, Texans approved all seven proposed constitutional amendments facilitated through the 85th Texas Legislature. Only 5.6% of eligible voters cast their ballot this election cycle. The seven approved constitutional amendments cover a wide range of topics including property taxes, organizations that can run charitable raffles, home equity loan provisions and more. Proposition 1: Broadens scope of homestead ad valorem tax exemption for disabled veteran or spouse. IN FAVOR             749,076 85.99% AGAINST              122,014 14.00% Proposition 2: Prescribes conditions, fees, refinancing options, and eligibility for home equity loans. IN FAVOR             588,271 68.60% AGAINST              269,176 31.39% Proposition 3: Limits the service of certain gubernatorial appointees after expiration of term. IN FAVOR             717,353 83.14% AGAINST              145,442 16.85% Proposition 4: Relates to notice requirements to Attorney General regarding challenge to constitutionality. IN FAVOR             549,360 64.33% AGAINST              304,509 35.66% Proposition 5: Permits additional professional sports team charitable foundations to conduct raffles. IN FAVOR             506,902 60.34% AGAINST              333,172 39.65% Proposition 6: Provides homestead exemption for deceased (line of duty) first responder's surviving spouse. IN FAVOR             733,925 84.62% AGAINST              133,307 15.37%   Proposition 7: Permits financial institutions to award random prizes to customers to encourage saving.
