Mayor’s Housing Task Force continues work

The five technical working groups that are part of the Mayor’s Housing Task Force continue to meet and focus on identifying policy recommendations to be offered to the City of San Antonio as city leaders address the affordability of housing across the community. The next public meeting of the task force is scheduled for Saturday, April 7 at Sam Houston High School from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM, where there will be a presentation followed by discussion in working groups. Please consider joining the meeting to share your input. The five technical working groups that have been meeting in 2018 are focused on:

• Providing housing for all, including special needs populations;
• Developing and preserving housing for stable, equitable and resilient neighborhoods;
• Removing barriers to housing affordability and supply [the Chamber is participating in this];
• Identifying new housing funding and financing mechanisms; and
• Creating a transparent, coordinated housing system.
